Mind Assets: Empowering people with disabilities

Maitri Shah, Founder Mind Assets,  a startup incubated at Riidl, is making an impact in the lives of many.  Through her tech startup, Maitri, an alumnus of K J Somaiya College of Engineering provides online skill training and remote/in-office job opportunities to people with disabilities so that physical infrastructure is not a barrier to have a career.

Profile of the Founder:

Maitri Sha, Founder & CEO of Mind Asset, has been a 95% scorer ranking among the crème de la crème. She is also a painter by hobby. She has been recognised by President Abdul Kalam as the Young Changemaker.

Maitri, wheelchair-bound due to Congenital Muscular Dystrophy is also the co-founder of Wills on Wheels – an NGO aimed at engaging and empowering persons with disabilities. Maitri is currently breaking more glass ceilings for the differently-abled while successfully running her start-up – Mind Assets.

Maitri at less than 25 years has been among the top 100 start-up finalists at the Maharashtra Start-up Week. She has had the privilege to meet Padma Vibhushan Dr Raghunath Mashelkar, Former DG, CSIR & President, Indian National Science Academy.

Ever since its inception in July 2017, ‘Mind Assets’ has successfully trained and employed several differently-abled individuals based on their merit and is currently being incubated by ‘Riidl’ (the name of ‘Somaiya’s Incubation Cell’), UnLtd India (Incubation for social entrepreneurs).

Objective of creating the Business:
Merit-based Financial inclusion of the differently-abled community in the mainstream job market.

Target Market: Corporates, SMEs, Start-ups, Solopreneurs, job-seeking differently-abled candidates.

Cost of the service in the market: Variable. 8.33% of the monthly salary of the candidate placed.
